We’re excited to announce that we’re turning 30! To celebrate three decades of weddings, guided walks, school camps, summer camps and winter camps, we’ll be hosting a performance by the Victorian Concert Orchestra on Mother’s DaySunday, May 13.
We’re very excited to be welcoming back the 40-piece Victorian Concert Orchestra, who last played out in the Pyrenees six-years ago. The orchestra’s conductor, Gerald Keuneman OAM, will again lead the touring orchestra, who are renowned for bringing their substantial musical talents to regional Victoria.
So, to celebrate our 30th birthday, and the musical talents of Victoria’s leading orchestra, bring a folding chair and a picnic rug and enjoy the serenity of our gardens and spectacular bush and lakeside surrounds. What a fabulous way to celebrate with Mum on Mother’s Day.
All ticket proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to help the organisation continue their Type 1 diabetes research.
Cave Hill Creek’s Humble Beginnings
But, before we delve too much into the festivities, let’s take a moment to look at how much our venue has evolved in the 30 years since our inception.
Established by Ian and Julie Chandler way back in 1988, Cave Hill Creek was little more than a sheep paddock with around 25 mature trees. There was no lake, no buildings, and no beautiful gardens anywhere to be seen – they all came later. Despite being a farmer and a teacher by trade, the Chandler’s seized the opportunity to transform the area into something truly spectacular.
On this simple parcel of land in the foothills of Mount Cole, they envisioned a stunning man-made lake, group accommodation and a function venue – all of which they were able to bring to life in the years that followed. With a lot of hard work, a passion for hospitality, and a love of the environment, Cave Hill Creek steadily grew into the venue you know and love today.
Today, second-generation owners, Tim and Angela Chandler, run Cave Hill Creek. The venue operates year-round and hosts school and summer camps, stays for corporate organisations, community and social groups, and guided walks on the Beeripmo Track in Mount Cole, as well as stunning destination weddings.
The entire team’s commitment to tourism and education excellence continues to reward guests with new and exciting experiences every time they visit. Plus, in 2016, and again in 2017, Cave Hill Creek won Gold at the prestigious RACV Victorian Tourism Awards.
